5.0 out of 5 stars Chane your mind... for the better., 24 Nov 1998
By A Customer
It costs ..[little].. with proceeds from it going to one of Uri Geller's favourite charities, but as it's cheaper than box of cigarettes and roughly the same size... it'll do you a whole lot more good! Uri Geller's Little Book Of Mind-Power calls out to you from the book shelf in the shop as it's vibrant orange cover tempts you to buy it. Even once you've purchased it, it still calls out to you every so often. So, what's in it? Well for a start I'd call it a "Peek" book - opening it at random at any page you can just peek in, read a quote and mentally chew it over... and it tastes good! As is true of many self-development books, it doesn't take a lot of information to be really useful - sometimes all it takes is a single quote from famous people to get you to kick-start your brain into either developing good - or stopping bad habits. In here you'll find quotes from Napoleon Hill, George Bernard Shaw, Henry Ford and many other influential and famous people... including Uri Geller himself. Strangely enough Uri's personal quotes leap out of the book at you... knock on your mental door and demand to be let in like an old friend... and it isn't because his quotes are in upper case. Like I said, it doesn't always take a lot of information to change the way you think, and this book is perfect in the way it presents hints and tips which you can use to shift your thinking-gear into a more positive direction. I suggest that you purchase a few of these books, because if you're like me, you'll want to share some of the short yet profound snippets within this book with your friends... and they won't want to give it back! So, will this book help you to bend spoons, read minds, and change the world...? Well, who knows? But one thing is for sure... this book can change your mind... ... for the better! Enjoy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Trite re-hash of positive thinking cliches, 25 May 1999
By A Customer
Jumping on the band-wagon started by The Little Book of Calm, Uri Geller disappoints comprehensively with a mish-mash of common-sense truisms, new age mumbo-jumbo and a scattering of uplifting quotes from more insightful writers. If you've read Norman Peale, listened to Anthony Robbins or watched any daytime tv item on creative visualisation, you already know more than this book is going to tell you.
