5.0 out of 5 stars Read this book and you'll be trading shares like a pro., 3 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Have you ever thought it would be nice to double or even triple your income for the year without changing jobs or working much harder. You can do this by trading shares and Armchair Tycoon will teach you exactly how.

There are many ways of making more of your money, none are quite as enjoyable or thrilling as speculating on the movements of shares. However there are lots of tricks and techniques which you must know in order to be successful. Usually these secrets are kept from the average retail investor. This book will reveal them to you.

Most experts will say you are better leaving the management of your finances to experts. The Armchair Tycoon explains the pitfalls and the benefits of taking charge of your share investments. After reading the book you will see that getting a great return is within your power.

The style of the book is very clear and concise. You don't need any specialist knowledge to understand it. After studying the book carefully you will have a good selection of techniques that will enable you to choose shares with the potential to multiply in value after only a short space of time.

I am go glad I read this book. Try paper trading using the Armchair Tycoon as your guide. It is true to say that there is a lot to learn before you can consistantly make money from shares. This book makes the learning process fun.

So if you want to make a lot of extra money, in a quick, pleasant way that will allow you to continue your present job then Armchair Tycoon is a must read.

If you want to give up work completely and concentrate on making money from shares full time then you must also read the companion to this book which is The Poolside Tycoon. I have read both books and I am already planning moving to an exotic location to trade shares for a living. Not everyone may feel happy doing this, I suggest you read both books anyway so that you can determine if this style of making money is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A jargon free introduction to shares and share ownership, 21 Dec 2000
By A Customer
The great thing about Armchair Tycoon is it gives you the chance to make big profits without knowing a thing about business. The secrets disclosed in this book are vital for anyone wanting to make a mint from the Stock Exchange - the lazy way.

Most people have heard of share millionaires, but the boring, time-consuming chore of researching stodgy company returns, turgid profit-and-loss balances and the jargon of the financial papers leaves most of us cold.

Yet without such gruelling homework, how can you know what shares to buy, when to acquire them and the right time to sell?

Well, it's not just lists of statistics and figures which help top investors to know when to strike. They also apply closely kept secrets that have little to do with business know-how, and which are based instead on fashion trends, pop psychology, human nature, hunches and timing.

Armchair Tycoon cannot promise to make you rich, but it is a treasury of invaluable hints aimed at helping you earn a profit from the big city, and it guarantees you won't need to be a financial wizard to understand them.

Malcolm also shares his views and ideas every day. He writes a daily column for the ShareCrazy website called 'Joe Public's Thought for the Day'...

5.0 out of 5 stars Easygoing and informative.., 15 Jul 1999
By A Customer
If you think, like me, that most investment books seem to be written in a foreign language - then this is the book for you. Armchair Tycoon makes excellent reading - very informative and enjoyable - you'd read it for fun - never mind the excellent tips and advice given inside. Also if you enjoy it, and i'm sure you will, you'll be pleased to know that the follow up 'poolside tycoon' is also now available.
