Product Description
Amazon.co.uk Review
ASP (Active Server Pages) is a Microsoft technology that provides a framework for developers to construct dynamic web pages. These pages can interact with custom-built components or databases to produce solid and interesting Internet/Intranet sites and web- based applications. As a succinct and eminently portable book, ASP 2.0 Programmer's Reference is a resource Internet/Intranet developers will find they use again and again.

The book covers the entire range of ASP commands and functions--from the standard objects (Request, Response, Application, Session and Server), through the built-in scripting objects and supporting technologies, to a view of the next version, ASP 3.0. 9 appendices complement the information and cover subjects like ADO (Active Data Object) object model, Microsoft scripting runtime reference and HTTP 1.1 header codes. The style is concise but clear with graphical illustrations to help communicate the ASP structure and relationships. In addition comprehensive examples are provided throughout the book to reinforce the command syntax required.

ASP 2.0 Programmers Reference is not for the novice developer or for those looking for a guide to IIS (Internet Information Server). This book is aimed at accomplished ASP developers and for anyone involved in application development on the world wide web --Rebecca Loades END

Book Description
This book provides a reference to Microsoft Active Server Pages version 2.0, one of the key technologies underpinning the Microsoft Web Server, Internet Information Server 4. ASP allows server side scripting to dynamically construct web pages, interact with server based components, such as business objects, and manipulate databases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Reference, 23 Jun 2000
By A Customer
Another excellent reference book from WROX. The layout is slightly odd however, but this doesn't affect how easy it is to find what you want, as the TOC is pretty good. The code examples do not always go into any great depth but this is a quick reference work after all. Five stars as the "layout thing" didn't warrant losing a star.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great reference to ASP objects, 4 Oct 1999
By A Customer
This is a great, as the title stats, reference to ASP programming. I recommend this book for anyone who needs a handy ref. book.

If you want to learn ASP, you should buy Beginning ASP 2.0, and get this one later as a ref. book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Buy For Some, 9 April 1999
By A Customer
I was excited to find this book. My goal as a long time programmer was to find a strong yet concise introduction to ASP without having to turn a thousand pages. This is it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Weak effort by stellar ASP publisher
I was very disappointed with this book. All of the other ASP books by WROX are excellent, so I felt safe in buying this work, assuming it would be excellent as well... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Beat for the price
After reading the other reviews on this book. I have to agree with some of what they are saying. This book is not up to the standards of the other ASP books by Wrox but I think... Read more
