5.0 out of 5 stars Practical management advice, 26 Oct 2001
By A Customer
Any charity that needs to invest in IT will benefit from this book. I found its format of checklists and tables allowed me to understand all the issues around almost any type of IT decision with just the right amount of technical detail. They seem to understand the constraints that charities are operating under and that they cannot just buy the latest gadgets whenever they want to. Well worth having a look.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes IT decision-making comprehensible to non-techies, 8 Aug 2001
By A Customer
What I thought was particularly good was the clarity with which the authors tackle IT investment and operational issues. IT is treated as a management issue rather than a technical subject - hopefully encouraging not-for-profit managements to get more involved rather than abandon these issues to IT directors or consultants, who in my experience have often been responsible waste substantial amounts of money.

For consultants - like me who do not deal with the decision-making on technology but have to live with its consequences - this may be an ideal gift for clients as well as giving one an overview of the topic!
