I have recently retired to Co.Donegal from England and initially borrowed this book from the local library. I found it absolutely invaluable as a reference book and quickly bought a copy.It is much more than a dictionary or encyclopaedia and even has the phonetics for some words-essential for the english person trying to pronounce irish! It is always by my side whatever book I'm reading so I can look up words, phrases and even abbreviations. I now know what 'GAA'stands for, what a 'Glimmerman' is and that I am a 'blow-in'!! I recommend it to all my visitors.
