Product Description

Synopsis

There is first-class, up-to-date advice on all aspects of caring for the Pug. There's a fund of information on healthcare, feeding, training, grooming, socialisation - everything you need to know in order to raise a loved and loving companion with a good temperament. But there's plenty of pleasure and fun to be had along the way as this book takes you on a journey through modern dog ownership.

From the Inside Flap

Intelligent, comical, and affectionate, the Pug is the Toy dog that has it all, and is loved by owners all around the world.
You will find out everything you need to know about this entertaining character in Living With A Pug, the dog book that says it all.
Advice tailored specifically to the Pug is given on a wide range of topics, including feeding, training, and general care. Choosing and caring for a puppy are examined, common behaviour problems are tackled, and guidance is also given on caring for an adult dog.
Throuthout this beautifully-illustrated book, easy-to-follow step-by-step instruction help you through all the stages of proper and caring ownership.
Although he is classified as a Toy dog, the Pug is no lazy lapdog. Lively and alert, he loves being involved in family life and can be trained to a surprisingly high level. To provide your Pug with mental stimulation, Living With A Pug includes a unique chapter devoted to all the fun canine activities that you and your dog can enjoy together.

Finally, distinguished vet Trevor Turner writes on the health of the breed. As well as breed-prone conditions and basic first aid, he describes a comprehensive programme of preventative health care that will ensure your Pug stays fit and healthy throughout his life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Concise & Informative, 15 Nov 2006

(REAL NAME)
Excellent, concise & informative content. Step by step training guides, which are easy to follow, you dont have to wade through chapters to find what you want. History of the Pug is included, but a little more could have been given over to specific health prolems unique to this breed. A good buy.
