2.0 out of 5 stars pet owner's guide to the lurcher, 5 Aug 2003
By A Customer
Ok as an introduction to those new to lurchers. But essentially very lightweight and lacks some of the basics which lurcher owners will need in the longer term. This is especially true of those taking rescued lurchers with a few behavioural and retraining problems. I have made my own lurcher notes which include many things this book doesn't. For example - what about lurchers and cats/livestock? Completely omitted and not as difficult as you might think to find a lurcher which is cat friendly or trainable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good General Guide to what the title suggests, 6 April 2002
By A Customer
This is not a big book and can be read within 30 minutes. It gives a general guide about keeping lurchers as pet - therefore do not expect any advice about using lurchers for hunting and coursing. Although most owners believe the word 'Lurcher' derives from Romany origins, Framingham suggests a couple more alternatives. Likewise some of the lurcher variations and quite well described.
However, most of what is contained in this book is information that any book about keeping dogs as pets would have. So in essence if you have a lurcher which you do not wish to work, then this will give you a fair insight.
