From the Inside Flap
Sheila Smith has been involved with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for some twenty years, and she has enjoyed tremendous success with her Salador prefix. In 1972 she acquired Pantisa Christmas Carol, and all the Salador Cavaliers are descended from this much-loved companion bitch. To date, Sheila has made up sixteen British Champions - fifteen of these were home-bred - and over fifty Champions worldwide are from her breeding. The first breeder in Britain to make up Champions in all four colours, Sheila has won CCs at Crufts with three different colours, which still stands as a record today. Ch. Salador Celtic Prince is the youngest post-war Champion, made up at just twelve months old, and Ch. Rheinvelt Ringold von Salador is the youngest black and tan male Champion, made up at sixteen months. A number of Salador Cavaliers have won Toy Groups, and Sheila has won the Our Dogs Top Breed award for four years in succession. The Salador kennel is famous worldwide, and many breeders have used Salador Cavaliers as the foundation of their kennels. Sheila, who also breeds and races thoroughbred horses, as well as breeding sheep and cattle, is an International Championship Show judge. She has travelled to America, Sweden, Holland and Finland on judging appointments.
