This intense, lyrical novel unfolds slowly but surely. The pacing, the quality of the prose and the insight into human nature are of the finest. It's a book about love and secrets and why some secrets are best never told.

One of the best books I have ever read... Dense reading, about love, marriage, the weird and wonderful politics of translators and interpreters.. Shows us the depths one can go to for love and its devastating consequences which linger on from one generation to the next.
The words, prose, thoughts and images stay in my mind with the passing of time... the mark of a great piece of philosophical, lyrical writing...
Keep writing Javier!!!!

It was a long time since (might say more of me though) I read a book so well written, and with such a purposeful intrigue - all events eventually link up, in a beatiful web of life. Insightful and interseting look into what humanity can be. (Have been some months since I read it, therefore the somewhat vague critique. Liked it very much, I do remember)
