I hope you never need this book for the reason I did. When my lovely little son died, in the midst of my grief I had to deal with questions from his 4 year old big sister. Young children are very literal, and need facts, not woolly euphamisms. This book is excellent at covering a range of issues in an open, unscary and (important for me) non-religious way. It would be good to read with any young child who has experienced death - be it of a pet or a person. It explains the facts about what death is, and what happens after you die - body goes cold, burial etc. But it also acknowledges the importance of memories, their legacy of love and the continuing importance of those we have lost in our lives. It is both sad and beautiful. It has helped us, so I wanted to review it, just in case anyone else out there needs this sort of help. I hope not.
