This book allows you to review your career options from an Egyptian perspective. Imagine you are a present day school student pondering which profession to follow, reading and listening to information to help you decide. A magic book appears covering ten jobs, in detail, with advantages and disadvantages to help you make a balanced judgement. However, now you are in ancient Egypt and existence is rather different from today. Hilary has written a readable book that you can pick up and enjoy and make that choice. The book is split into ten careers, one per chapter, and each illustrated with Hieroglyphs of the trade and line drawings. By the end of this book you feel as though you have sat with the careers advisor and you are now ready to make your decision. However, life is never that simple and there are always reasons to enter a profession at a particular moment in history and this book can guide you. The author takes you through typical days, explains the challenges and shows you the tools and tricks of the trades. If you ever wondered what everyday life was like for the average woman and child, men at the top or the king then look no further and evaluate how you might have lived.
