Product Description

Facaros, DanaDESCRIP_ALLOWED

From the Publisher

The Peloponnese is truly Cadogan’s heartland – a ravishingly beautiful backwater of Mediterranean Europe that deserves greater recognition with British travellers (although selfishly, we don’t want it to get too popular!). Our authors know this region intimately, and introduce you to its secret delights as only locals could. From the wild, wind-burnt ruins of Mycenae to the comfortably shady streets of charming Nafplio, the guide reveals a place of contrasts with wit and affection.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely essential!, 29 Jul 2001
By A Customer
While the Greek islands have become the Caribbean of Europe, the Peloponnese is one of Greece's best kept secrets, much of it utterly unspoiled and stunningly beautiful. We used this book on a three week tour and thanks to Facaros and Theodorou and their in depth knowledge of the area found places that the other books don't even mention; the hotels and restaurants were spot on, too. An unforgettable holiday, and it wouldn't have been possible without this guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical Pelopennese, 6 Jun 2006
By Penny "PAB" (Wiltshire UK) - See all my reviews
Have just returned from a week travelling in the Pelopennese and made the most of every minute out there due to this book. It was never wrong - and how often can you say that about Guidebooks? Written in an easy-to-read and informative style it was full of tips about which of the less visited sites were worth a detour, best beaches etc. After a few days we came to rely on it completely and would recommend it thoroughly to anyone who wants more than a beach holiday.

5.0 out of 5 stars A detailed and perceptive guide, 5 Dec 2006
By Dr. Tom Bell "Tom Bell" (Devon UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a unique guide book. it is written by authors who are clearly in love with their subject. After spending a lot of time in the Pelopennesse in the 70's I returned 5 years ago. I was delighted to find it so unspoilt. This guide book does what the others do but with much more passion and brio. If you want a guide that goes in some depth about the history as well as hotels and beaches then get it straight away !!! There are detailed notes on ancient sites. It also gives you a good idea for how touristy or otherwise an area is. In my view the best there is.
