Whatta great read!, 26 April 2003
I started reading this book and just couldn't put it down! I've watched 'Ghosthunters' a few times and was surprised to see some of the places mentioned on the show in this book. The accompanying pictures were great in getting a place in mind. If you want to read about the haunted history of the UK..then read this book!

A brilliant book, 14 April 2004
Richard Jones has explored the length and breadth of the UK looking for fascinating and mysterious tales of ghosts and spirits, and his journey ends with the publication of this book. A well known historian, Jones has written several books including a quide to London's ghosts (Walking Haunted London, also well worth a look) and is perhaps best known for his role as historian on the cult show Most Haunted. The book is heavily illustrated with large colour photographs, which accompany a lively and interesting text which admittedly isn't as detailed as could have been, but this is only a slight critique on my behalf - a very worthy addition to anybody's bookshelf!

An informative read, 5 Nov 2001
I liked this book. The author has wittily narrated a collection of ghost stories from the British Isles. The pictures are colourful and apt making way for an entertaining read. In conclusion i would recommend this book especially to those with an interest in the paranormal and also to the general reader. Hugely entertaining.
