This is a comprehensive guide and covers virtually every bird I have ever spotted. I have two other bird guides but this is the one I always go to and am usually able ot ide3ntiyf the bird from it. It is also a convenient size to allos it to be put in a pocket when hiking and sufficiently small to allow browsing to help identify the bird spotted.

Good book for first timer, with clear photos and brief (but not to brief) details. Looks at the most commom birds so you are not going through pages and pages of information. Handy size for carrying around with you
