In "This is Mozambique", the country's history, its people, economy, cultures, main cities and major tourist drawcards (including game reserves such as the splendid Gorongosa Park), its sea life and the beautiful Bazaruto, Inhaca and Benqguerra islands are discussed in detail in a comprehensive introduction. The second half of the book is divide into the southern, central and northern regions of Mozambique and takes readers on a full-colour photographic journey through the highlights of the country, as well as activities in which visitors can participate, such as diving and snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, and a host of other watersports.

5.0 out of 5 stars A genuine, honest, true view of Mozambique and its people!, 6 Nov 1999
As a Mozambican,I purchase every single book or guide written on my country. This is the first one that pays true tribute to my wonderful homeland and all the Mozambicans. The text and photographs, take you in a journey through the country and its people in the most genuine way.Though it is easy to read, does not lose its indepth. If there is ONE book to buy on Mozambique - this is the one! As we say in Mozambique,to the authour - Ian Michler - KANIMAMBO!
