5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! Theres everything you need to know., 26 May 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Make-up Book (Hardcover)
I found this book really good. It's the make up Bible for all women who want to feel and look good. Theres noting more that could be added to it. It goes through each part of your face and gives you great tips on which makeup would be best for your skin type and occasion. It also gives you information on which make up would compliment a certain part of your face. I would recommend it to anyone. I certainly give it two thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent foundation book!, 19 Nov 2009
By V. ILIEVA (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I was looking for a make up book showing the main techniques as well as the foundation of the make up. I did borrow few books before that (such as B Brown etc..) but I was disappointed as all of them were promoting their own products and hardly anything was said about face shapes, skin tones, tricks of the eye etc.
Joy Terri book is excellent - it shows the most important brushes, other equipment as well as teaches you how to establish what type of skin you have. The book is very easy to read and you will be able to develop skills on how to minimize effects of small eyes or big nose and to tackle any "unperfect" face shapes and issues.
It is exactly what I was looking for!
Thank you so much Joy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really informative, 27 May 2009
By Caren Firth "caren16" (Seville) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I wish I had found this book years ago. It explains in clear language, with excellent photos, exactly how make-up works, what the techniques are and what they aim to do. Information is provided for all types of skin tones, so that it really is the only book you need whether you are pale skinned or dark skinned, or have wide-set eyes, prominent cheekbones, or whatever. The book also shows why make-up can enhance your life. And it's a much cheaper and more reliable option than relying on the salesperson at the shop.
