This is an extremely well laid out and clear book which gives a comprehensive overview of the sport of climbing. I was very impressed by the quality of the photographs and clarity of the explanations. For the beginner or improver this would be an excellent text.

I challenge you to learn to climb from this book. It is nicely laid out but in my mind the information included is far from clear and a bit random. Most of the information is there, it's just scattered around wildly. In addition, they seem obssessed with telling you how to top rope!

Very detailed yet uncomplicated book. Interesting for non-rock climbers too. Couple of things I'ld like to see: More on different kinds of equipment, Titles on all the great images to say where they were taken, though I did have fun trying to guess some of the locations.
