Product Description

Product Description

Racing model cars is a fascinating hobby that provides thrills and excitement for young and old alike. The name Scalextric is now so well established that it has become a generic term for electric slot car systems. The fifth edition of this best-selling book - reformatted and illustrated throughout with specially commissioned colour photographs - is the complete guide to models that have been marketed under the brand name of Scalextric since their introduction in 1957. It brings the story right up to date and includes details and illustrations of 2001 models.

About the Author

Roger Gillham has been interested in Scalextric since 1958 and is a respected authority on these models. His interest in motor racing has since been extended to full-size cars, and he regularly competes in speed hill climbing. He lives near Faringdon, Oxfordshire.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Totally Different Book from the previous editions - Great, 3 Dec 2001
By thepedleyfamily@supanet.com (Worcestershire, England) - See all my reviews
Having already got the First & Second Editions of this book, I was expecting more of the same, but was pleasantly surprised to find this is a totally different book, with a much brighter, fresh approach to the subject. This book will become a collector's item in it's own right like the previous editions, and takes Roger's Bible for Scalextric Collectors to new heights. They will be difficult to scale by the increasing number of similar new books in the marketplace.
