This book is completely brilliant. If you believe in little people under the floor who "borrow" things to use in their tiny homes then you'll love this beautiful story. It starts under the floor of a big house in the country and the family of borrowers leave the safety of the house and live close to the stream for a while before being saved from near death by Spiller - an outdoor borrower who lets them travel in a knife-drawer barge to meet other borrowers who turn out to be missing relatives.
After more travel and adventures then end up in a model village where idyllic life can't last long. They get kidnapped by rival model village makers who keeps them in the attic over winter, and just in time they make their daring escape!
If you want to relax into an enjoyable story which will keep you engrossed then buy this book.
This book is really lovely and whether you're a child or adult you'll enjoy reading it.
