Amazon.co.uk Review
"With shelves in department stores and chemists positively groaning under the weight of male grooming products, it is clear that men today are increasingly interested in the way they look--no longer is looking good and feeling great a female domain."
In a way, a book devoted to male grooming was almost inevitable--the market for such products has virtually exploded over the past few years but still remains something a taboo with most guys who wouldn't be caught dead discussing the latest moisturiser or the best product to combat the ageing process. With this book, you get a stylishly designed and highly informative guide to looking good and feeling even better, packed with tips and advice written a humorous and laid-back attitude.
Virtually every area possible is covered, from the obvious like the best way to shave and what sort of products suit which skin types, to looking after the parts of your body that you wouldn't immediately think need just as much maintenance such as feet and eyebrows.
For the more health conscious there are sections on healthy living and exercise, and even wise words on how to avoid that fashion faux-pas. Other basics include aftershaves and fragrances and how to look after your hair. There is even a handy resource list at the back of the book which details the places you can go to throw yourself on the mercy of some qualified experts when all else fails.
David Waters has produced a useful guide that avoids patronising the reader or making them feel like it should be hidden away and only brought into use when the girlfriend is not about. It's well designed with some stylish photography--but ladies be warned, don't be surprised if, after your partner reads this book, you find that there's no longer room on the bathroom shelf for your essential beauty products! --Jonathan Weir
