5.0 out of 5 stars Another cracker from Rough Guide, 17 April 2003
By J. Mcgregor "jiy126" - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This is a great wee book to take with you to Vegas as it's informative, fills you in with the essential history of the place and is written in a witty, almost sarcastic style. I'm sure the architects of The Venetian Hotel and Casino wouldn't agree their creation is 'ludicrous' as the author describes it, but he does so with affection. Las Vegas is ludicrous, so it fits right in! Potted reviews of all the major casinos, the best restaurants (although it does focus on the more expensive places), what to do off The Strip and out the city, and even a guide to how to gamble your money away at the tables make this an essential purchase if you're heading to Las Vegas.

This book contains all the info you need on Las Vegas - its a great read , well put together and a whole hearted recommendation to all people going to Vegas in the near future (Could do with updating for the new hotels though - still can't have everything)

4.0 out of 5 stars A good companion, 20 May 2004
By A Customer
Whilst small enough to carry round, this mini-guide still manages to detail most things a visitor would want from Vegas.
It's witty and derogatory of some of the attractions... allbeit well-placed!
