Indispensable on the best places to
eat and drink (including the fantastic
Fisherman's Pub in Speightstown) and good
tips on places we wouldn't otherwise have
found, like the Art Gallery in Bridgetown
and the unspoilt east coast beaches.

Seems that the Rough Guide team are trying to get a book out on every location without regard to their roots. I've always bought the Rough Guide for any holiday destination but this one was just full of lists with little extra value.

Very few useful hints were contained, when you land in Barbados, there are lots of free handouts, maps etc which make this book a waste of time.

Just go to the local bars/rum shops and ask the locals - save the price of the book and buy them a bottle of rum !

Covers all aspects of the island ranging from the coasts, restaruants and entertainments through to the history, culture and traditions. Worthwhile reading material for anyone planning a trip to Barbados - would have been nice however if there was more content aimed at those going on package holidays as opposed to the 'backpacker' audience rough guides seem to cater for. Lacking in basic info such as the costs of local food and drink.
