4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting book. It also gives you brief general info, 17 Feb 2001
In this book you can find a English-Thai dictionary, a Thai-English dictionary, common phrases, information on the Thai language and some brief information on Thai traditions and way of living. Well printed. Just one regret:in the Thai-english section there is not the Thai word written in Thai alphabet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Essential for REAL travel experiences, 22 Aug 2005
By Mark Smith "m" (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I found this book essential. In Thailand tourism is now their biggest industry and combined with the good nature of the people, tourist are welcomed into their society. However, the reaction you recieve when you've gone to a little trouble to try to communicate in Thai is second to none and ensures that you can tryly engage with the locals. Talking about anything other than football and the Premier League requires at least a bit of thai and I found it very rewarding, especially in ythe dinning cart on the sleeper trains.
