Fully authorised by the estate of Philip K. Dick and written by the author they felt best equipped to take forward the vision of one of the great names in SF, BLADE RUNNER 4: BEYOND ORION combines the dark imagery, paranoia, tension and pace of Dick's original novel and the cinematic genius of Ridley Scott in a novel that takes the Blade Runner series into a new millennium. 2.0 out of 5 stars Blade Runner IV: Eye and Talon, 30 Jun 2003
This book is one in a line of sequels to the Philip.K Dick book "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep." It has elements of the film Blade Runner also. Unfortunatly being the 4th book by an author other than Philip himself it is slightly lacking in his style.
The plot sees a female cop struggling as a Blade Runner (Special Police designed to eliminate androids who are exactly like humans)and sees her world get turned upside down as she loses her job and goes on the run.
The plot for this book is unfortunatly fairly dull. A lot of the main action is over before it really gets into swing, and there are a lot of dull dialogue scenes to read. K.W Jeter is a good author but he isn't the master of Blade Runner and it loses the significance that the original pointed out so well.
It does have some good scenes and features new and more interesting characters, although it lacks Rick Decard (the main character in Blade Runner)for a lot of the book.
Overall I find this book a disappointment seeing how the rest of the series is so high on expectation. This could have been better in any places seeing as it is the last sequel book I have yet found, then I was disappointed to see it has no real way to round off the whole series and is actually rather poor.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Roaring good yarn!, 7 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This is the 3rd blade runner book I've read, and it is definatly the best. It builds upon the gloom and mystery of the movie and other books. I'd defiantly recommend this.
