4.0 out of 5 stars An Exciting Story of the Past and Future, 2 Jul 2002
By Hustle Rose "Amelie Poulain" (Albany, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Forever King (Hardcover)
This book is fabulous! I especially loved the parts with Saladin, the man who has lived forever. He kills not because he is evil, but because he is bored. I love his statue of the washerwoman with the axe in her chest that stands here in my living room (just kidding:*>) and how imaginative the character is. I also really liked Hal Woczniak, the drunk ex-FBI agent, who has given up on life and himself after a tragic case that he solved too late.
This story is a brilliant thriller that is imaginative, jumping from 2500 BC to 1992 AD to 485 AD and around and around. It also solves the case of Jack the Ripper. . . but you'll have to read it to find out for yourself what happens!

5.0 out of 5 stars A tantalising blend of harsh reality, fantasy and adventure., 27 Jul 2000
By A Customer
Enter the pages of this book and you will travel through time, fantasy and adventure. A magical mix of modern day life blending with chronicles of the past which draws you in so deeply that you will feel that you are there, living with the characters, living the story. Fans of Arthurian Legend will love this. A mythical cross of Highlander meets Merlin! This fantasy adventure takes on an uncanny realism as it's modern day input gives you something to relate to. I read this book in less than two days, because I could NOT put it down, needless to say I was deeply dissapointed when I turned the last page! Read it. You WILL NOT be dissapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars very imaginative!, 27 Jul 2008
By jenaveve "ville7" (leeds, england) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Forever King (Hardcover)
this was absoloutly brillaint! the characters are great and the plot is full of twists and turns to the extent that you can barly put it down.
this book takes you on a jounrney back in time and is similar to the da vinci code in that it is about the holy grail and its story but being written before it gives you the sense that you are reading the first in an endlessyly exciting and captivating genre. well worth reading!
