Product Description

Product Description

This guide provides help and information needed on how to reduce or even eliminate the impact of inheritance tax. It sets out in detail which assets are taxable and which are not, explains how assets are valued, and how to minimize the liability to pay inheritance tax. This edition is updated to include all the Finance Act changes that are likely to affect the reader, including independent taxation of husband and wife, the latest rules on capital gains tax relief, new rules regarding gifts, and increased coverage on creating a trust. There are case studies which look at how inheritance tax affects different people, advice on how wills and trust can lessen exposure to inheritance tax, and guidance on the role life assurance and pensions play in further reducing inheritance tax payments.

1.0 out of 5 stars Out of date. But this book will give a good theory of planni, 17 April 2002
By A Customer
This book explains the theory and basics of gifts and iht planning.
Even though the book is out of date i found some of the explanations on trusts to be the best i have ever read.
There is a good chapter on how inheritence tax is calculated, which was easy to understand.
Business iht relief is also covered in this bookwhich is unusual.
In conclusion,My only regret with this book was that it was up to date.
