Product Description
The true story of con man, thief and murderer, Roy Archibald Hall. Born in Glasgow, Roy Hall soon realized that he had an instinctive gift for crime - and quickly became a skilful jewel thief. His reputation grew with a succession of daring scams and he moved to London. There he became a member of the glitzy London scene - a friend to Lords and criminals, his risque lifestyle attracting attention and admiration. However, life took an unexpected turn when Roy met his first true love. He could not have known that such happiness would lead to a vicious and bloody murder. The killing tipped Roy over the edge. A series of brutal murders followed and soon Roy's days of freedom were numbered. After a protracted police chase, he was run to ground and is currently serving a life sentence.

5.0 out of 5 stars To Kill and to Kill again, 13 Aug 2004
This is one of the most well written books I have ever read. Roy is a fantastic writer unfortunately due to his circumstances and a series of bad decisions he became a murderer. The book made me feel I knew Roy and had a real insight to his life, it gave an honest account of what drove him to do what he did the good and the bad. It made me think a lot about my own views towards murderers but the same time does not glorify what he did. Although I guess it wasn't intended you do end up feeling a lot of empathy towards him.
Anyone looking for just a pure good read should have this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing insight into a criminal mind!, 8 Feb 2003
normally being a reader of horror, i stumbled across this book and thought i would read it. after reading the first chapter i knew i wasn't going to be able to put the book down again. Roy Hall writes this book to tell you his story, he doesn't intend to make you feel sorry for him but it is written in such a way you can't help liking him and thinking he is actually a nice guy he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
if your looking for something different to read. read this! it's fantastic and like me you will probably stat collecting the rest of the true crimes library books.

5.0 out of 5 stars full of intregue, 28 Jul 2007
Because I live in the area where Archibald hall committed one of his murders I was drawn to this book to learn more about the character. It is a very good book and draws you into the character which made Roy Hall. Indeed as kids we used to dare each other to go to the bridge where one of his victims was dumped under now named by locals as Mary Coggles Bridge. After this murder he came to the local pub and spoke to the locals all friends and family of mine. This book adds more to the motives and sheer psychosis of Roy and helps bolster all the urban legends that we grew up with.
