5.0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Must!, 3 Jul 2000
By A Customer
If you only ever read one Autobiography in your life, then READ THIS ONE. Extremely well written, entertaining and interesting. I could not put the book down until I had read from cover to cover. This book has my highest possible recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars A life with many tricks up its sleeve, 11 Jun 2000
By A Customer
Pint-sized Paul 'Ted' Daniels is undoubtedly one of the best magicians Britain - if not the world -has seen to date. From the pictures painted of him by the press in years past he always came across as someone with an ego on the scale of Ben Nevis. How refreshing it is to read this book and discover the in-depth man behind the showbiz facade. This master of illusion is none other than a real, down-to-earth human being. Laugh with him as he recounts his National Service days and his lust for a 'rather throaty' Chinese girl on a Hong Kong ferry and his encounter with a young Prince William at a kids' party; cry with him in his family heartache as his bouncy, lovable dad falls seriously ill, and one of his son's goes off the rails. Be extremely jealous as he snares and wins the hand of 'the delightful Debbie McGee'. If you are expecting him to break the magician's code and reveal how his illusions are done, forget it. Fiercely defensive of his art, he keeps his cards close to his chest. A superb, 'unputdownable' read showing how pure determination, the will to succeed - and a little magic - can propel you to the good life. Roll on volume two...

5.0 out of 5 stars That Paul Daniels is a genius., 17 Aug 2003
Back on the magic circuit. That Paul Daniels is regaining every bit of popularity he ever had. In my book at least, and this is a review of HIS book, how coincidental! Pink wafers to him I say! He has always been top-notch entertainment and a true magician if I ever saw one. This book has much information as a English Magic Dictionary ala the world of Harry Potter and Kate Bush.

Brilliant stuff and highly recommended!
