4.0 out of 5 stars The second of many?, 21 Oct 2004
By Jeffrey Bowman (London, England) - See all my reviews
As impressed as I was by Daniel Peltz' first novel "Blood Ties", In my opinion "Out of the Blue" demonstrates very clearly his emerging maturity and sophistication as a writer. The developing relationship between Marianna and Candice echoes similar situations in some of the classic works of English literature. Also it is obvious that a great deal of in-depth research has been carried out into aspects of the Holocaust. Some of the passages in the flash-back chapters are extremely realistic and therefore particularly harrowing. This is a first-rate book and I would have given it 5 stars rather than 4 if it had only been a little longer. I sincerely hope that the author will keep up the progress he has now demonstrated with this volume.
