3.0 out of 5 stars useful book for improving to novice level, 17 April 2002
By A Customer
This book is useful for the player who knows how all the pieces move but doesn't understand what is going on in a game, i.e. improving from beginner to novice. It examines 10 rules to improve game play. Once these rules have been learnt then the book will not be much further use and it can appear quite pricey for only about 100 pages. The book will have a much longer useful life in a library - but this is an effective book bridging the beginner/novice gap.
