I have been associated with the German Pinscher virtually since it first came into the UK over 20 years ago. During all that time I was busy researching into their origins etc. When I retired from teaching in 1997 I had the oportunity to sort and collate my findings and the idea of writing a book emerged. This was my way of giving something back to the dogs who had been such a big part of my life and meant so much to me. There was no book on the breed in the English language and any other written information was somewhat limited. The time seemed ripe for a book on the German Pinscher.
