5.0 out of 5 stars A valuable reference work for students of politics., 29 Mar 2001
By A Customer
My review is from the paperback book which is a condensed version of the 670 page hardback. The book contains all the great parliamentary set speeches and the full text of the often miss-quoted "Rivers of Blood" speech and Enoch's devastating attack on the Common Market and his brilliant defence of national sovereignty. The book also includes illuminating portraits of a number of political contemporaries, together with fascinating and revealing extracts from TV and radio interviews. The book provides an indispensable guide to the proper understanding and appreciating of one of the most penetrating and exciting political minds of his generation. This collection of speeches and reflections provides a framework on which to build an assessment of one of the most distinguished, if controversial, political figures of the 20th Century. A valuable reference work for undergraduates and students of politics.
