Product Description
Des Conway has been involved in the organisation, planning and management of events for over 20 years. For 15 of those years he has played a growing part in the police coverage of small, medium and large events. During that time he has seen how many events have not been as successful as they could have been because the organiser failed to plan and overlooked or underestimated important things. That's why he wrote this book - to help you make sure your event is a success.
From the Author
I have been involved in the organisation, planning and management of events for over 20 years. I have made mistakes and seen the mistakes others have made. From that experience I could see the mistakes event organisers were making and started offering advice. After a few years I decided to write some of my standard advice down. What started as a leaflet grew into this book containing 35 chapters that take you through from deciding you want to try to put on a show or organise an event, to planning it, setting it up, running it, and stripping down and clearing the venue or site afterwards. I use real examples to illustrate the problems and objectives. This book is a good starting point for any event from a fete to a gymkhana, or a fun run to a car boot sale.
