5.0 out of 5 stars Fairly Disappointing, 8 Jan 2001
By A Customer
I am planning to move to London soon and bought this book for practical advice and information relating to London. Unfortunately, the book would be better called 'Living & Working'. There is little information relating to London itself and most of the advice is focussed on the obvious.

For example "It is always difficult to know where to start in such a move. Do you find a job first or do you find accommodation first?" This is one of the hardest and most stressful things about moving anywhere that involves relocating. What would have been useful would have been advice on e.g approaching landlords when you are out of work, ways around the problem and lists of agents in London who could help. But no, the book leaves this issue at that simple sentence.

This theme is prevalent through the whole book - telling you what the problems are without any solution.

On the other hand, the book would be useful for someone moving for the first time, moving away from home for example or relocating from another country. Otherwise don't bother!!
