5.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for your teenage offspring, 1 Nov 2000
By A Customer
If your son or daughter (or grandson, granddaughter, whatever) is off to college or university, or going to live in a bedsit or a flatshare, I suggest you buy this book as a farewell or bedsit-warming present. The teenagers whom I've given it have been appreciative and they have even (would you believe it) used some of the tips. Especially those on how to remove red wine spills and wax stains from their landlady's carpets. There are recipes, nutrition advice, bits about handling credit cards and budgeting, how to defrost a fridge, and all sorts of other useful advice. My only criticism is that the cover is so singularly uninspiring. Three cubes which look like baby's toys. Highly symbolic probably but I doubt that the teenagers appreciate the subtle symbolism.
