5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most truthful books I have ever read, 20 Jul 2000
By A Customer
It's simply a great book with a very moving climax. The people are complex and difficult and wonderfully drawn. In the end, what I took from the book, wasn't that people in love are selfish but that we all at some point in our lives have to act selfishly in order to survive and that acts of selfishness can sometimes be the most difficult tasks to perform. Like all good books, it's strength is in what isn't said. I thought it was terrific!
