5.0 out of 5 stars Coffie Table, 2 Dec 2004
By Jack Holder-spriggs "jacko_199" (Liverpool, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A brillent, witty and funny book.
This was the first Spike Milligan book that i have read and i have now caught the bug. The book itself is not one to sit down and read for hours on end, but one in which you simply read for thirty minutes or so, spending the whole time in laughter having to reread parts just to laugh over and over again. It is best suited for a bedside or a coffie table, it is currently going round my halls of residents at great speed,a highly recomend book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Amusing but childlike predictable gags pall after a while., 3 Sep 1999
By A Customer
If you "like" milligan then you'll probably like this book. For others who are not "author surfing", it is amusing for the first few chapters but the obvious gags begin to raise fewer and fewer smiles for me. After a time, it seems that Spike is commenting without much idea on where to get the gag on this line - gags that would have best been served either with a bit more thought or not put in.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bible the Old Testament According to Spike Milligan, 8 Jan 2010
By Ray Churchill (Newport South Wales) - See all my reviews
The funniest book I have ever read.

A laugh in every paragraph.

Spike the comedy Guru, at his best.

Definately not for devote Christians.

Don't think about it - get it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Never has being a Bible basher been so much fun.....
Spike Milligan - mad, quite mad. Fortunately for us however, his insanity is hilarious, especially when taking a pop at the big guy himself. Read more
