5.0 out of 5 stars Pyrenean Dream, 25 Aug 2004
This book really opened up the Pyrenees to me. I never expected I would be able to get anywhere as high or as exciting as the Breche de Roland but the book made it easy for me.The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Because the maps are so detailed I didn't need the large ones I had with me and that made life more managable as I didn't have to keep reading the book and then consulting a different map. This meant I always knew exactly where I was. In two weeks I completed 8 of the walks, all of them beautiful and exhilerating and I came home feeling inspired. By the same authors I also had, The Landscapes Walking Companion, which was an absolute delight. The two books together supplied all the information I needed and helped me realise a long held ambition of walking extensively in the Pyrenees.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Pyrenees, 18 April 2009

The descriptions of the walks together with the detailed maps are very reliable and easy to follow. The gradings are also useful - strenuous means a long and satisfying day's walking for the reasonably fit. The book gives plenty of options for a week's walking holiday without needing any other guide.
