Brehm and his colleagues train hard and perform extraordinary, dangerous rescues. They should be commended for their selfless work and are obviously heroes. That Others May Live is an account of Brehm's life during a few notable rescues. The chapter on the Mount McKinley adventure is well written and exciting. There are plenty of insights into Brehm's inner thoughts and emotions as a rescuer, as a husband and as a family man.

However, having read many excellent first person military accounts, I am disappointed in this book. It could have been so much more. Perhaps something got lost in the audio version. If you are looking for gripping, detailed and action packed adventures, I would suggest that you read the excellent books by Andy McNab, Cameron Spence, Chris Ryan and Mike Curtis.

This book is a very interesting account of the life of a pararescue jumper. Unlike most military books it is an account of Jack's life from when he becomes a PJ to present day, including his account of "The Perfect Storm". It is not too gung-ho as Jack is a family man with 5 kids, but it does have stories about training(these guys are super-fit) and missions. It is a great read if you need motivation to get fit or keep fit. I have read many books of this type and this a very good example. My only criticism would be that the details of the missions and training could be better.
