Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

As young Tammo dreams of joining the Long patrol--the legendary army of fighting hares which serves the Lady Cregga Rose Eyes, Ruler of Salamandastron--the brutal reality of a battle with Damug Warfang's mighty battalion of savage Rapscallions fast approaches.

Brian Jacques has proved time and time again that he has the ability to grab his readers by the throat and transport them into a world of fantasy and adventure that many writers of adult books would love to emulate. The Long Patrol, A Tale of Redwall, certainly proves the point yet again, but distinguishes itself by being perhaps the very best of all the Redwall books so far. Relying less and less on the old, familiar Redwall characters and more and more on the ingenuity and passion of younger blood, The Long Patrol will certainly win Jacques a fresh following while continuing to delight his existing army of fans. (9 years and over) --Susan Harrison --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great novel, 23 Jun 1999
By A Customer
This is the book where everything comes together if you've read the whole series. The castle Kotir is mentioned along with the warriors of the earlier books. You finally find out what happened to that castle because if you look at the maps Redwall takes the place of Kotir. Other than that all through the book you hope Tammo succeeds on his mission, but you knew the whole time that he'd get the girl.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Long Patrol, 20 Feb 2003
The Long Patrol

The book I am reviewing is called The Long Patrol. It is about the fighting hares that serve Lady Cregga rose eyes ruler of Salamandastron.
The main characters would be the courageous young hare Tammo who wants to join the long patrol, Dammug Warfang firstblade of all Rapscallians. (Killed by Cregga rose eyes.)
The Rapscallians try to take over the abbey of Reddwall. The warriors from the abbey and Salamandastron join together and defeat the Rapscallians.
I enjoyed this book because it was full of adventure and war.
My favourite character was Arven the Abbey warrior holding the sword of Martin the warrior.
I don’t think there are any bad points. I would give it 9-10.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think it is exciting, 24 Sep 2001
By A Customer
My favourite character is the Galloper Riffle because he is brave and quite important but not the leader. I really enjoyed reading The Long Patrol, and it is one of my favourite Redwall books. I've enjoyed all the Redwall books that I've read so far. I've read the book that comes after the Long Patrol - it's called Marlfox, and it is good too.
