The words "Tong Sing" mean "know everything book". This traditional Chinese almanac contains information on everything from astrology to herbal remedies, Confucius to the interpretation of dreams. It attempts to answer all questions about the Chinese way of life.

About the Author

Dr Charles Windridge has studied Chinese history and culture over a lifetime. He is the author of a number of science and language books for schools, most recently, 'The Fountain of Health: An A -Z of Traditional Chinese Medicine.'

Cheng Kam Fong was born in China and spent her childhood years in Guangzhou (Canton), where she developed her deep knowledge of Tong Sing. She has used Tong Sing extensively for over fifty years.

Though based on a book which is apparently in every Chinese home, this is not a translation but the author's interpretation of the original for English readers. It is full of interesting information about, for example, Chinese history, divination, wisdom and food. Nothing is dealt with in very much depth, however. There are some beautiful, coloured, Chinese illustrations
