5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have for all Beginner Knitters, 9 Dec 2001
By A Customer
I am a complete beginner at knitting. This book is excellent if you want to start off with the basics - casting on, basic stitches etc. The author keeps you interested in the craft by including easy (they must be easy if I can knit them!)knitting patterns right from the early chapters of the book. The knitting projects/stitches etc become progressively harder - but never too difficult to understand and do. Having tried a few other beginners' knitting books, this is definitely the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent reference for beginners, 17 Nov 2001
By A Customer
I bought this book a couple of years ago when I was learing to knit, and still use it as a reference.
The instructions are very clear and well illustrated, from the basics such as casting on through to colourwork and aran. There is even a section on designing your own sweaters.
The book includes quite a few basic patterns demonstating the different techniques.
Definately recommended for beginners.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Knitting Book Ever!!, 9 May 2001
By A Customer
I brought this book a few months ago and being an intermediate knitter I found it so helpful. There is practically everything you need to know in this book whether your a beginner or more experienced! I found that this is a good reference book and I always use it to either learn something new or as a reminder on how to do certain stitches/techniques. I've also been to Debbie's teach-in class (in Islington) and it was fantastic. If your interested in knitting on any level - Get this book!!
