The 'talking book' version of Pride & Prejudice, read by Irene Sutcliffe, is the lazy way to enjoy this wonderful novel. It's produced by Cover-to-cover and is completely unabridged i.e. exactly as Jane Austen wrote. This is essential, as I haven't come across an abridged version which doesn't somehow lose the sparkle of Jane Austen's wit.

Irene speaks the novel beautifully and gets all the intonation exactly right, which makes it a real pleasure to listen. In fact this cassette is a permanent resident of my car. The only problem is that I sometimes have to keep driving round the block in order to finish listening to the most interesting bits.
