4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Osprey Offering - Now Possibly Slightly Dated, 23 April 2009
All the virtues of the Osprey series are on display here. The text is clear and concise and the illustrations, both contemporary and from historical sources, are plentiful, appropriate and useful. If you have any of their other books you should know what you are getting.

However, I suspect that, were it to be revised today, the author would be able to speak with rather greater confidence about the findings from the bows recovered from the Mary Rose. These have revealed a great deal about actual warbows (admittedly from the period just after the book stops).

Overall, recommended.
