A biography of a single Spitfire, Mk XI PL965, which apart from being the fastest and most manoeuvrable Merlin-engined Spitfire also flew unarmed, on photo reconnaissance missions across Europe. Alongside interviews with surviving PR Mk XI pilots, examples of their recce photography and rare contemporary colour photographs, a detailed record of PL965s restoration is also provided.
