5.0 out of 5 stars A simple little book with a big and powerful message, 6 Sep 2001
By lynne.mcaloon@unn.ac.uk (Newcastle upon Tyne) - See all my reviews
This small book which is suitable for both children and adults alike, takes the reader on a warm and wonderful journey. A journey to our soul.

I think most people will enjoy reading it with their chidren and I am sure that teachers would find it a great help to help our children learn and think about feelings. However, I believe that it is not just for children. It is also an important and potentially influential publication for adults.

As a teacher of health professionals, I have found this book a valuable resource when exploring complex concepts such as spirituality. It can also be used to simply reflect upon ones self.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in feelings. Give yourself the gift of half and hour and read this book. Think about its message. I am sure you won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal symbolism, 16 Oct 2004

The symbolism within the context that this book is written is fantastic. I read it, liked it. My daughter read it and has not stopped talking about it.

It is very easy for us to forget the inner workings of our feelings and how they affect our responses. Especially when talking to children, us adults often wrongly display superiority. Now, using metaphor for our feelings, talking openly and clearly has become easier for both of us.

Place this book on a coffee table or hallway. Great little book.

My goodness, this a fabulous book. I bought one for my kids and one for school. My kids go to this book often and talk about it regularly. It is written very well obviously and it has helped them to think.....and discuss so many issues with me. Well done to the writer!
