The shiny silver star featured throughout this book is a special detail which held my daughter's attention. The storyline, about friendship and never feeling alone, is sensitive, with just the right amount of emotional involvement. The delightful illustrations are full of little details, such as inside Laura's bedroom and her toys. An easy to relate to narrative aimed at the 3-6 year old age-group. It is a good length for bed-time reading, and like all the best stories, there is a happy ending.

A story of a little girl, Laura, who wanted a special friend. Captured a fallen star, mended it and played with it like a friend. She grieves when she thinks it's lost, then finds it and finally helps to send it home. My daughter loved the story and rubbed the sparkly star on every page. I loved reading it to her too!

Laura finds a glittering star that has fallen from the sky - her very own special friend, with whom she shares secrets, tricks and stories under the bedcovers. When it disappears, it is as though the light has gone from her life, but when she finds it again, she realises that to keep it, she must let it go. The illustrations are as magical as the story, the special glittery star is captivating for dreamy readers, young and old alike.
