5.0 out of 5 stars This book is so important to everyone with an illness., 2 Mar 2001

CURING FOOD ALLERGIES AND COMMON ILLNESSES:

This book opened my eyes to just how futile medicine is, and how important the self-healing ability of our body is.

Dr. Hunter shows that all of us who have chronic illness - no matter what it is - has LOW body temperature. And doctors have missed this vital link to our health.

It is a real discovery and I was up till after midnight reading it.

It truly has the ANSWER to a host of chronic illnesses, by giving you a diet that raises the low body temperatures that all of us in so-called "civilised" societies have, which results in the illness that we have, slowly disappearing into oblivion!

Wonderful, wonderful book. And most definitely the best book I have ever read!

Nicola Gallacher

3.0 out of 5 stars Ensure optimal body temperature and parasites go!, 11 Jun 2005
By A Customer
Well that is what the book is about. The diet is a fruit/salad diet but you can have grains,e.g. oats and wholemeal bread. milk once a week, and explains we have bodys like Anthropoid apes and should eat like one. Diet seems very inpractical. I tried this sort of diet years ago and a cut on my foot never healed up until i ate meat again. This book has a very good theory in it that may cure your allergies, and if you go along with his theories and change the diet according to what you are happy with, e.g. free fromall refined foods and sugar, and plenty of fruit and veg and some meat/or fish and nuts, this book would be fine, helpful. If you choose to eat high amounts of fruit, you may become over alkaline, because you have not got enough acidic foods to balance you. Your joints may start to hert with lots of friut and your blood sugar levels are less likely to be balanced, friut sugar can feed candida albicans. The diet is best suited for the ape, I would reccomend you read Melissa Diane Smith 'Going Against The Grain' if you consider yourself a human being.

5.0 out of 5 stars Parasites may be your problem, 18 Sep 2003
By Louisa (London) - See all my reviews
Following an allergy test that implied I was allergic to all of the foods that I love the most, I decided I wanted to know more. Why was I allergic to things that didn't affect other people? Why do I share allergies with my family - is it all to do with genetics?

This book has given me a completely new opinion on health and nutrition. The author, who has personally suffered with allergies, explains his theory in a very comprehensive way and puts forwards logical ideas backed them with evidence. He aims to explain why one person may suffer with an allergy and another may not - and explain he does.

The allergy epidemic that is becoming ever more prevalent in the western world, he suggests is as a result of parasites living within us. Parasites can enter the system through a variety of means such as when vegetables are not properly washed. They can also be passed from mother to child (hence the hereditory link). He explains that in fact the allergic reaction is as a result of the way parasites react to allergens. So it is not the food that is bad for you, but something about you that is not quite right.

And why is this? One of the main reasons seems to be the heavily processed and artificial diets we follow that the parasites (including yeast) thrive on and which lower our body temperatures making an ideal environment for them.

So what can we do? The answer appears to be to follow a natural diet. The book gives guidance on what you can eat and what you should avoid. It is quite restrictive and you may have to follow the diet for long periods of time, but because the book explains the reasons so well it does not just feel like a fad diet. You can really understand the effect your diet has on your health and this I found very motivating.
