Product Description

Synopsis

This guide presents over a dozen cross-stitch projects on the theme of fairy tales. It includes a Jack and the Beanstalk measuring chart and Red Riding Hood finger puppets. There are easy-to-follow instructions to the making up stage, colour photographs of the finished pieces in their home settings and clear counted-thread charts. For the beginner, simple diagrams illustrate basic skills and stitches, while more elaborate designs and larger projects should interest the more experienced needleworker.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun for me to stitch and for kids to play with!, 23 Feb 2002
By A Customer
As a mother of three I always keep an eye on these kind of things - stories to tell and play, and this book gives a lot of joy! I soon have my first set of "Red Riding Hood Finger Puppets" ready so our own family theatre will get started... =) Even if some of the figures are meant to be just pictures on the wall I may alter them into finger puppets as well...

Charts are easy to read and the thread colour numbers are given in both Anchor, DMC and Madeira. Easy for even newbies to start with and for more skilled - the world of variation is endless! The book has also instructions for mounting and framing your work.
