5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutley Wonderful! Buy This Book!, 13 Jun 2003
By Kelly A. fuller "certified book nut" (Pennsville, New Jersey) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Wow, This book was not what I expected it to be. It started out very funny, very light, and I thought I would be in for a your run of the mill chick lit romance. Boy, was I ever wrong! Yes, this book has your usual chick lit checklist: young woman, living in the city, hates her job(s)... but the book takes a serious turn halfway through. I was shocked, and totally hooked! Don't let the cute cover fool you! You will be sucked into this book, I guarantee it! You will laugh and cry and want to scream, but you won't be able to put it down!

5.0 out of 5 stars I hope all her others are as good as this one!, 31 Oct 2006
I don't normally read chick lit books but I was attracted by its bright cover. Shallow I know. I read this in 2 days. It was completely different to what I had imagined. I was laughing one minute and crying the next. The characters were like old friends. I enjoyed this book so much that I have just gone out and bought everything by Tina Reilly. Do try this book. I doubt if you will be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars I felt like reading it again as soon as it was finished., 1 April 2001
By A Customer
I bought this book because I liked the cover and must say I felt a bit concerned when I realised, on flicking through it before actually starting it (a habit of mine) that it had an "illness-type-thingy theme going on" as I hate to think I might be depressed by a book (I like a laugh, me.) HOW WRONG COULD I HAVE BEEN? This is one of the best books I have ever read. I started it at 10 one morning and it never left my sight until I finished it that evening. What a great great story. It was really VERY FUNNY. The story centres around Jan, her mad family, her environmentalist boyfriend, her flatmates and her friend, Al. I sniggered all the way through this story. The actual seriousness of the plot was not lost on me however the story is told in such a chirpy, upbeat and refreshing way. Jan's was a terrific character; it would be a blessing to be as brave and witty as her character was if one was faced with a similar real-life situation.

I think Tina Reilly has written a superb first book. Hope there's plenty more where that came from.

READ IT.
